Mid Summer Place, Amesbury, Salisbury SP4 7SQ – 0845 241 3535
Situated next to the A303 with a Costa nearby. As a Holday Inn it is what it is.
Nice rooms. Friendly & efficient staff. Awful food; really bad value for money.

Lots of character in this old place.. the staff were helpful and very friendly.. I will gladly book again next time Im staying in the area.
I was on a trip for business with a friend and we decided to stay here, as the price was reasonable and it was close to where we needed to be. It's about a 15-20 minute drive to Stonehenge (would be only five minutes but there seemed to be a lot of traffic both times we went). The hotel itself is old, and has been around for a long time. Though a bit worn, it seemed clean and safe, and definitely charming. Parking was a plus. After we left the hotel we discovered that one of us had lost our cell phone. I rang the hotel and asked if they had found anything. Not only did they look in the room we had stayed in and around the hotel, but they also sent one of their staff to a nearby cafe that we had been to that morning to look for it! Excellent customer service and friendly staff. Would definitely go back again.

We had our wedding here and they couldn't of made it more special, Bob was fantastic and looked after us from start to finish. The food was perfect and all done for a very reasonable price. The room we got was lovely and I cant recommend this hotel strongly enough!
À Nice place to stay, service very good and thé food was excellent
2 Stonehenge Road, Durrington, Salisbury SP4 8BN
Easily the best effort of being a decent village pub at last. After many years of not being vey good the new owners have completely refurbished it to a high standard and it is now a pleasnat place to eat and relax. Good pub food with a carvery - steaks are very good and cooked to perfection.
Reopened. It is more carvery than pub so and the food is good, pub food. Nothing outlandish but cooked well with good portions. Front of house is poor; if dishes are unavailable then tell patrons when handing out the menus, don't wait till it is requested. Don't have squabbles and power struggles in the open. I hope standards will increase and these are just teething issues. Needs better focus and management in this aspect. The bar part is small. A few tables and chairs but is clean and tidy. The garden is laid to stone chippings but plenty of seating and dogs allowed. Ample parking if needed.

Very friendly staff (family owned) and customers. We really enjoyed our stay at their B&B above bar, and will stop in again the next time we visit.
Travel Super Market search and compare prices for hotels all over the world. Could also be useful for you. I This said I was told by a hotelier that the way to get cheap rooms is to ring up the week before and ask for the weekend rate. You can usually get an absolute bargain as they will trying to book all the rooms that they have not sold! Could be worth a try!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
