Dental Surgeries

Ivydene Dental Practice

5 Salisbury Rd, Amesbury, Salisbury SP4 7HQ, UK – 01980 623295

I went there last week. It was my first appointment at this practice but surely not last. I got Rachel as my dentist and what I can say is that I am truly impressed by her professionalism, empathy and great service. She is the best I have ever come across and I wish everyone had such an amazing dentist! She has an individual approach and I could see that she really cared about my teeth health . I am seeing her again in 6 months. Every staff member I met during my visit was super friendly and I walked out with a really positive feeling towards them. Thank you!

Very friendly staff and a good place to go if your afraid of the dentists. Very understanding so I give 5 stars :)

St Melor Surgery

Edwards Rd, Amesbury, Salisbury SP4 7LT, UK – 01980 622474

All of the doctors cannot do enough for you. I have always got an appointment same day but tonight was exceptional. I was in agony all afternoon and decided to call at 17.40 on a Friday, (they close at 18.00) - Dr Blakeley said come straight over. She was so helpful and lovely. Prescribed me antibiotics and I collected them from Boots! Amazing and I am now hopefully on the mend for the weekend :-)

We have been registered with this surgery for the last two years. I have two small children who have periodically gone through bouts of repeated minor ailments, & unfortunately we'be been regulars through the doors at certain times of year. We have been able to get an appointment the same morning without fail. There have also been occasions where I've rung in later in the day for advice, & again been seen almost immediately. We have found all the doctors patient, attentive, reassuring and kind. Equally, the reception staff have been so friendly and helpful, which is so important. We are very sad to have to register elsewhere after moving.

Barcroft Medical Centre

The Centre, Amesbury, Salisbury SP4 7DR, UK – 01980 623983

Midwifes best I have ever encountered and doctors were brilliant, Very caring and understanding. However badly let down by what I can only describe as a middle aged menopausal receptionist who on approach felt like I was a massive hinderance not only to her day but to her life. When phoning to get an appointment for my daughter who got admitted to A&E, she thought it was ok to give medical advice when she is just a receptionist. She clearly told me children get ill, they usually wheeze with colds and curl into a ball. I’ll get the doctor to call you before the end of the day in the meantime give her calpol. It baffles me as to why she gives out this advice and knowledge when she is just a receptionist. My daughter in the end had to go on a breathing mask and an over night stay in hospital. It’s not the first time I have heard people complain about this rude receptionist and her attitude. How nothing has been done about this is beyond me.

Depends on which docter you see.. reception staff can sometimes be hard to get past but some doctors are very good. Worst point for me is waiting to get an appointment which is always at least a 3 week wait minimum

Find Recycling Centres

Hills Waste Solutions - Amesbury Household Recycling Centre

Boscombe Down Business Park, Mills Way, Amesbury SP4 7RX, UK – 01980 676285

It's rather odd to be typing about an awesome experience at the tip, but that's exactly what we got! Having hired the van, sorted the time off work and collected the stuff to tip, we were at first rather peeved to find out the Salisbury tip was closed for the two days. However we headed from Laverstock to the Amesbury tip and I can happily say I will never visit 'the other one' again. Much easier for manoeuvring (which means a high top long wheel base rental next time, be warned fellas!). But the biggest plus is the really wonderful staff. The two blokes that were there on both days were courteous, helpful and polite, even to rude Americans who didn't know what aluminium is and especially to me, seven months pregnant with far too much to do!! Their friendliness made everyone else friendly, meaning little old ladies were assisted with their household rubbish and people were kindly directed back and forth. We visited multiple times over the two days and I have to say I feel a pang of sorrow that it will be some time before we return! Absolute 10/10, well worth the journey from Salisbury and the extra diesel cost. Thanks again lads! I might even bring you biscuits next time :D. Very friendly staff, right on us because we had a pickup, then expressed "Oh you not been before this year" after checking our permit. Not everyone who has a pickup creates lots of waste I exclaimed! Good service overall!

A & J Moore (Metal Recycling) Ltd

Stockport Works, Stockport Road, Amesbury SP4 7LN, UK – 01980 622011

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Amesbury

Pizza Hut Restaurants

Solstice Park Ave, Amesbury SP4 7SQ, UK – 01980 676200

I have to say that I never liked pizza hut but after years I decided to try it again and I am glad I did. They improved so much within last couple of years. It's a great place to go if you looking for a place to have a nice lunch with your kids and friends. I don't like pizza in their buffet section as I found it quite tasteless but fresh pizzas from their menu are very nice and starters are amazing. We always start with their salad buffet which looks fresh and of course we always keep space for their lovely desserts, especially the ice cream from the 'ice cream factory'. The prices are very reasonable and staff is always polite, friendly and helpful. They always make sure we get the best deal they offer.

First time to PH in 12 years and very nice too. Healthier than I remember and plenty of choice. Good service and atmosphere. Young people and parents and grandparents all there. Needed pineapple and sweetcorn at the salad bar!

La Lupa Amesbury

Stonehenge Walk, Amesbury, Salisbury SP4 7DB, UK – 01980 623151

I was really torn between 4 and 5 stars. Our starters and mains were lovely. Very tasty food, well cooked and well presented. The service was also excellent: our table was waiting when we arrived, staff were attentive, polite and efficient. The reason I dropped a star in the end was the rather lack lustre cheese board. It had 4 very tasteless choices of a camembert, blue, cheddar and red leicester; they were so bland you couldn't taste them over the flavour of the biscuits. That and the price: I am happy to pay for quality and expected a hefty price tag but it is expensive compared to anything else in Amesbury. Our meal for 2 was £85 and that was with only 1 alcoholic drink each and we shared the cheese board rather than having deserts. My fillet steak was £27 and worth every penny. Just be aware you will pay for the quality. The meal was finished with rich coffees and complimentary amaretto and mints. I would definitely go again, just probably not have cheese and biscuits!

We had a beautiful meal in La Lupa with very good service. Highly recommended.
